Fighter’s Blockis the best writing app I’ve come across in a long time.
You type in the amount of words you want to write and as you write, your mini lil avatar fights a monster. Each word you write acts a hit towards your monster, and once you’ve hit your word count the monster is defeated!!!
How cute!!!!
Work quick though as how long you spent not writing decreases your avatar’s health. It’s a productive fight to the death against the clock!
Best things about this app:
You can PAUSE it!!!! Need go get a cup of tea? Need to sneeze? You can!!!!!
Settings are adjustable! You can change the monster’s speed and the attacks!
You can change the theme and font!
You can level up!!!!! The number of words you write equals your EXP. You can unlock one avatar thus far, but I believe there may be more in the future!
You can minimise the fight above if it serves as a distraction, and only show the decreasing green bar.
Best of all: If you don’t hit the target word count in time, YOUR WORK DOES NOT DISAPPEAR. In the past I’ve lost so much work because I wasn’t typing fast enough, or sneezed.I cannot express enough how thankful I am that it presents a challenge where the consequence is a knock of pride and not a fit of rage.
Honestly, I urge all writers out there to give this app a go. It’s my new favourite thing.
Anonymous said: Can you give me some advices/tutorials on how to make gifs? I suck at it and hell, I've been trying to gif for two days and I still can't :(
Of course! Let me just say when you start off making gifs it can be very difficult and confusing (I know it was for me). So I’m going to try and give you lots of tips and things that I’ve learned so hopefully you can skip lots of the hard parts I had to learn on my own. Also don’t get discouraged if you feel like your gifs aren’t turning out amazing, you’ve just started and it’s taken me over the course of 3 years to start making ones I’m actually happy with, as always practice gives you experience! Anyways enough of my rambling lets get started.
i feel bad for people who use sai but dont know about stabilizer, transparent brushes and clipping groups
this is where you find stabilizer:
i personally prefer to use S-4 for default drawing and S-7 when i need to draw really long smooth lines. this is what it does:
this is where you find transparent brush:
when you enable it, you can use your currently selected brush as eraser. this is what it does:
this is where you find clipping group:
you have to have at least two layers, the base layer and the one for the colors. when you draw on the layer with little red bar on side, the stuff you put on the layer appears only on top of the things you have on the base layer. the effect is p much same as preserving opacity except you dont change anything about the base layer and you can still use layer textures and effects. this is what it does:
reblog this to save a life
THANK YOU SO MUCH
i dont use Sai but i know most of you guys do so!!
so i don’t think a lot of people really understand how often south asian culture is misinterpreted and appropriated so i’m making a post about it right here.
any mention of third eyes
any mention of chakras
people wearing bindis when they shouldn’t be
fucking “om” or “aum” tattoos or appliques on things like yoga pants. do you know how fucking disrespectful it is to put a symbol that is so important to my religion and culture on the ass of some white chick’s yoga pants
people wearing maang tikka when they shouldn’t be
anklets with bells on them are very important to the dance culture of south asia and it’s disrespectful to wear them outside of a traditional dance setting
feel free to add any more that i missed because i’m fucking tired
this is okay to rb if you’re not south asian. in fact it’s encouraged that you reblog this post, regardless of your race
^^Anyone is capable of appropriation without meaning to, even other poc. Please respect!
tumblr IM is great and all but can we please and i’m Begging here can we please get some kind of search function because i keep needing to look for very specific messages i sent three weeks ago and it’s just half an hour of scrolling
On computer start to like click and drag to select the text and then just like drag and hold that at the top of the chat (it should scroll up for you and keep selecting the txt) for ages/till you see something you know is from before the thing you’re looking for. Then copy it all into a word doc and do ctr-F search for the thing?
It’s faff and hassle but I’ve used it before to find really old chat stuff :)
If you’re in a situation where you need help from the police but you can’t speak out, there is something called “silent solutions.” If you’ve ever called 999 you know that they ask which service you need (police, ambulance, fire). If you don’t answer, you will be asked to cough or make another noise to tell the operator that you need help (like a kidnapping). If you can’t make any noise at all, it goes through an automated system. If that happens, you will be required to hit 55 if you need the police. 999 is the U.K. emergency number, so check within your country because it might not be the same.
This could’ve literally saved my best friend’s life and I’m so upset that she’s gone. You never know when someone might need this
