starlit-kisses:

Over dinner at Wylan’s newly acquired estate, the group kept the mood light as Inej’s parents and Jesper’s father smiled along. “And then we commandeered a tank and drove through the Ice Court!” Jesper gesticulated wildly, eyes bright.

There was a collective chuckle, and Matthias added, “Nina, Kaz, and I were washed up at the base of the waterfall and I was pretty sure I was dead until I saw the tank coming over the hill.”

As Nina recounted the next leg of their journey, Inej felt a tentative hand ghost over hers under the table. She glanced sideways and Kaz’s gaze flicked to hers and he raised his eyebrow.

She nodded, slowly taking his hand in hers. She could feel her heart hammering in her chest before letting go. ‘Sorry,’ she mouthed at him.

Kaz nodded in understanding, his face a shade lighter than usual. He stretched out his pinkie and linked it with hers. A slow smile spread over her face and she curled her finger around his. This would be enough for now.

When she tuned back into the conversation, she laughed and she could swear she felt Kaz’s eyes light up when he look at her. Maybe this was good enough for now.

little kanej things

malfoyst:

- inej is the only person that kaz feels comfortable enough with to take his gloves off when she’s around,

- inej didn’t tell anyone that kaz fainted because she knew how embarrassed he would be, also she knew that he hates skin to skin contact so she never even talked about it,

- it was inej’s voice that helped kaz come back to consciousness,

- kaz said he would literally die to make inej smile that way

- the way kaz talks about inej’s laugh or smile in general is so important

- kaz tortured a guy who stabbed inej and then threw him over a side of the boat (what a charmer)

- also he thought that killing a guy who threatened to break inej’s legs would be a mercy to van eck so he came up with a whole plan as to how make van eck’s life miserable so he needs to suffer instead of just being dead (not really romantic but it’s kaz so cut him some slack the boy’s tryin’)

- “i would have come for you. and if i couldn’t walk, i’d crawl to you” i mean COME ON

- kaz said that he wants to be a better man for inej, he knew that he could become a decent boyfriend if only she would want him

- inej was the only person that could push kaz out of his comfort zone without making him feel like he was weak or like he needed to be someone entirely else just to please her

- hand holding,

- kaz treating inej’s wounds and iconic neck kisses

- kaz for the whole six of crows was like “i don’t care about inej, i care about the money” but in crooked kingdom he literally bought her a ship just because she said it’s her dream to have one so she could fight slavers

- also he found her parents and brought them to her so they could meet

- and last but not least, before meeting inej’s parents kaz, the Bastard of the Barrel, the king of thieves, the Dirtyhands, the biggest bad boy in Ketterdam, fixed his tie and asked inej “is my tie straight?” (what a badass, i can’t believe)

But they’d tried. He’d tried. Maybe they could try again.

sixofcrowsnw challenge: take two
FEBRUARY 14-20: best moment of your otp

Nina x Matthias

“I am grateful you’re alive,” he said. “I am grateful you’re beside me. I am grateful that you’re eating .”
She rested her head on his shoulder. “You’re better than waffles, Matthias Helvar.”
A small smile curled the Fjerdan’s lips. “Let’s not say things we don’t mean, my love.”

Inej x Kaz

“Come with me,” she said. “Come meet them.”
Kaz nodded as if steeling himself, flexed his fingers once more.
“Wait,” he said. The burn of his voice was rougher than usual. “Is my tie straight?”
Inej laughed, her hood falling back from her hair.
“That’s the laugh,” he murmured, but she was already setting off down the quay, her feet barely touching the ground.

Wylan x Jesper

Jesper leaned in and said, quietly enough that no one else could hear, “I can read to him.”
“He has a very soothing baritone,” added Wylan, and then the guards were hauling his father down the aisle.

No mourners, no funerals. Another way of saying good luck. But it was something more. A dark wink to the fact that there would be no expensive burials for people like them, no marble markers to remember their names, no wreaths of myrtle and rose.

darren-criss:

Kaz vowed.

cccrystalclear:

The cutest couple

neenya:

“You shouldn’t make friends with crows,” he’d told her.

“Why not?” she asked.

He’d looked up from his desk to answer, but whatever he’d been about to say had vanished on his tongue.

The sun was out for once, and Inej had turned her face to it. Her eyes were shut, her oil-black lashes fanned over her cheeks. The harbor wind had lifted her dark hair, and for a moment Kaz was a boy again, sure that there was magic in this world.

- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

inej: babe?
kaz and nina, at the same time: yeah?

medeasheart:

“He was going to break my legs ,” she said, her chin held high, the barest quaver in her voice. “Would you have come for me then, Kaz? When I couldn’t scale a wall or walk a tightrope? When I wasn’t the Wraith anymore?”

Dirtyhands would not. The boy who could get them through this, get their money, keep them alive, would do her the courtesy of putting her out of her misery, then cut his losses and move on.

“I would come for you,” he said, and when he saw the wary look she shot him, he said it again. “I would come for you. And if I couldn’t walk, I’d crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we’d fight our way out together—knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that’s what we do. We never stop fighting.”
